How can you maintain your clean colon after a cleanse? Unfortunately, biofilm always has a tendency to grow back. This is the normal course of events in nature. It is therefore good to look at what you yourself can do to keep the gut in optimal condition.

Nutrition plays an important role

Nutrition has everything to do with health in the gut. In our Western society there are a large amount of foods which our body just isn’t able to digest, because these foods simply did not exist when our bodies were “designed”. This is one of the reasons why our intestines become so polluted.

What foods are best to avoid?

If you want to keep your colon clean then it is good to leave some foods out for a while. People with hypersensitivities should avoid these foods altogether until their symptoms have subsided significantly.

These are the foods that you should avoid:

Added sugars

Cereals

Pasteurized dairy (this is any dairy that is not labeled “raw”)

Processed foods, such as anything from packets and sachets.

Food additives, with special attention to artificial sweeteners and flavor enhancers.

If you want to read more about this it is recommended to read the book “The GAPS Diet” by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride.

Which foods are advisable?

What is good to eat during gut recovery are vegetables, meat, eggs and grain substitutes, such as buckwheat, quinoa, amaranth etc. Preferably organic. This is widely available at all types of supermarkets. It is important to know that it is better not to eat raw vegetables or fruits during the recovery phase of the gut. Of course it is very healthy to eat raw vegetables, but fiber is hard to digest and in the recovery phase this is not a good idea. Steam or stir-fry vegetables until they are well cooked, this gives the gut a bit of a break and allows it to recover. Use healthy fats, such as coconut oil, organic butter, cold-pressed olive oil and use Celtic sea salt.

Every body is different

Of course, it is true that a person can also have an overreaction to the so-called healthy foods. This can be checked by therapists who practice Bioresonance or Kinesiology. We therefore recommend anyone who wants to have their diet well sorted out to contact a suitable therapist. The restoration of proper gut function is something that can be invaluable to the body. 80% of our immune function alone is in the gut. This indicates how important this is to our health. However, the above advice is general. It is good to look at your unique body as well. It is a path one can take to take responsibility for one’s own health.
